Colorful leaves and the smell of smoked hams and eggnog on the horizon, we decided we may as well talk about the weather changes reflected during Fall. Sure, in CST we get to fall back an hour and sleep in…(p.s.t. today we turn our clocks back central timers), but we experience some crazy, off-the-cuff type of oddities in our weather.

There are major weather changes to expect every November because the polar jet stream moves toward the equator bringing colder air further south than any other month. Meanwhile, stronger, warm air is moving north, causing low pressure throughout the mid-states. This allows for bigger storms, more rains in the mountains and colder weather.

Did you know that in November of 2012, 1,625 tornadoes touched down across the United States?
